ONGC extends support to poor school children

Aiming to facilitate support to students and the poor, State-run energy major Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC)- CBM (Coal Bed Methane) Development Project Bokaro distributed books, water purifiers including other goods as a part of its corporate social responsibility at Sadam under Gomia block of the district.

“We have distributed washing machine, water purifiers, bed, bed-sheets, pillows, blankets, buckets, mugs,

sleepers, soaps among the orphans and poor residing in the village,” informed VK Gupta, Manager CSR of the company.  

"We have also distributed educational items among the students (of Madarsa), he said. “Holistic development is our motto.

We are on the move to improving the lives of people around our operational areas,” added Gupta.

Under CSR ONGC is providing funds for the welfare in the field of education, health and sanitation, entrepreneurship including others.

ONGC, CBM division Bokaro has continuously organized initiatives for the well-being of its communities around its area of operations at Parbatput about 35from the district headquarters Bokaro.

Now ONGC is exploring 5000 cubic meter CBM gas per day from its Parbatput plant at Bokaro Steel City.  Now the gas is sold to a Kolkata-based firm.

At present, CBM gas is being supplied through cylinders, but soon a pipeline will be laid at Parbatpur, connecting the wells to supply points, informed the official.
