The Shiv Sena, Ganjam district on Wednesday sent a memorandum to the State Government through the RDC (Southern Range) and
Ganjam district Collector demanding reopening of the Balaji Spinning Mill at Aska, which has been closed after the Cyclone Phailin in 2013.
The members alleged that hundreds of workers of the mill have lost their livelihood for closure of the mill. Despite repeated demands, the State Government has turned a deaf ear to their demand.
The Sena threatened to take to the streets and burn effigy of the Chief Minister at block levels from October 1 if the mill is not reopened by then.
Among others, Sena Ganjam president Sanatan Choudhury, youth president P Tulsiya Reddy, Brahmapur president Anil Sahu, Santosh Padhy, Durga Mishra, Jogendra Prasad and Ganesh Maharana were present.
