Tough fight in all six constituencies of Gwalior

Close contest in all the six Assembly constituencies of Gwalior district is being witnessed.The candidates of the major rivals- Congress and the BJP lost no opportunity in the campaigning that ended on Monday.

In the Gwalior constituency the focal clash is between Cabinet Minister Jaibhan Singh Pawaiya and the firebrand Congress leader Pradhuman Singh Tomar.

On Tuesday, both Pawaiya and Pradhuman along with their supporters were seen moving door-to-door meeting the voters.Gwalior South constituency is the most talked about constituency in the district as the charismatic former mayor and BJP dissident Sameeksha Gupta is contesting from here as an independent candidate.

Praveen Pathak of the Congress and Narayan Singh Kushwaha of the BJP are the other main candidates from the Gwalior South constituency.

Sameeksha’s rally which she set in motion from her residence at Hemsingh Parade Grounds in the morning was attended by women in large numbers.

The Congress candidate Praveen Pathak commenced his rally from the Rokadiya Sarkar Mandir.

The rally was attended by youths in large numbers. Naraayn Singh Kushwaha began his rally from Sindhi Colony.

Later on he had lunch with the workers at his campaign office situated in Maharaja Bada.

In the Gwalior East constituency it is more or less a straight fight between the lively Congress candidate, Munnalal Goyal and the energetic and youthful BJP candidate Satish Singh Sikarwar.

Last time Munnalal had lost to Maya Singh for the narrowest of margins.

He was seen soliciting support from the traders at the Morar area. Satsih Singh was seen touching the feet of the people while soliciting support.

Later, he called on Maya Singh to seek her blessings.

The Congress candidates reminded the public about their party’s promises in the manifesto including loan waiver for farmers and jobs for youths.

The BJP candidates were seen emphasizing the fact that the Shivraj government in the state and the Modi government at the centre have been delivering development to the state.

All the candidates held road shows throughout the city causing heavy traffic jams and hassles to commuters.
