Focusing on the theme ‘Bharatbodh: Jan-Gan-Man’ (The idea of Bharat: nation-society-mind), this year, Pragya Pravah, an umbrella organisation of nationalist think tanks is all set to organise the second edition of Lokmanthan, a brainstorming session of nationalist thinkers and practitioners in the State Capital in association with the Department of Art, Culture and Tourism, Government of Jharkhand.
The four-day event starting from September 27 will be inaugurated at Khel Gaon by Vice-President (VP) of India, M Venkaiah Naidu, while Lok Sabha (LS) Speaker Sumitra Mahajan will address the valedictory function on September 30.
Lokmanthan is organized in every two years and is primarily intended to provide a platform for taking up issues of national importance governing the present scenario and having a deep impact on the country and its people. Experts from different sectors, during the multi-layered discussions take up topics ranging from art, culture, environment etc during the mega conclave. According to the organising committee body, all major preparations have been completed for the event.
“The programme aims to strengthen the connection between intellectuals and practitioners. During the technical session, topics like Bharat’s perspective about the world, World’s perspective about India under Samajavlokan: seminar on society, detail discussion on system and governance, discussion on economy will be taken up. We are expecting huge response from the public,” said Minister, Department of Art, Culture, Youth Affairs, Amar Kumar Bauri during the press meet organised here on Tuesday.
Deepak Sharma, Convener, Pragya Pravah, said, “The concept of Lokmanthan is conceived as a ‘Colloquium of Nation First thinkers and Practitioners’ and is just similar to ‘Boudhik Mela’ – Intellectuals Meet but it must be noted here that other representatives who have made their distinct identity in the field of art and culture, sports, social sectors are also invited to share the dais and keep their views on the theme.”
Eminent personalities like Ranga Hari, recipient of Padma award – Sonal Mansingh including others will grace the event alongwith with Chief Minister Raghubar Das, Governor Draupadi Murmu.
In addition, an exhibition before the formal inauguration of the event will be also inaugurated by Vidhan Sabha Speaker Dinesh Oraon at the mega event’s venue – Khelgaon on September 26.
