2.25L students take part

Saturday, 16 November 2019 | Staff Reporter | Bhopal

Anubhuti Programme, an extensive campaign for training and awareness towards forest, wildlife and environment has taken an institutional form in the State.

About 2.25 lakh students are participating in this campaign and are playing the role of ‘Vandoot’ in their field. With this in view, the Forest Department felt the need for a separate logo for the programme. As many as 77 entries were received in the logo competition organized by the Madhya Pradesh Eco-Tourism Development Board at an all-India level. After evaluation by a high-level committee, the design of Vanshilal Ketki, a resident of Mumbai, has been selected for the logo.

In this logo, a girl is seen laughing which symbolizes a pleasant ‘feeling’ of nature. In the hair of the girl, elephant has been depicted as terrestrial animal, fish as aquatic and near her throat a bird has been shown as aerial animal. The tiger’s pugmark is displayed on the girl’s ponytail, which depicts the top importance of tiger in the environment along with Madhya Pradesh being the tiger state. Leaves made in the form of hands display the forests. Under the hands is the logo of the programme coordinator Eco Tourism Development Board which is the symbol of water, land and sky.

It is noteworthy that the Forest Department is organizing eco-camps for students of Class VIIth to XIIth with the objective of explaining the importance of forest and wildlife for life on earth to the children living in the vicinity of the national parks and sanctuaries of the state and to develop an attachment towards them through direct experience.

Various programmes and competitions will be organized in these camps from December 15 to January 15. These activities are being appreciated by school children and teachers. Through this, trained future citizens of the country have emerged as a pleasant hope amidst global warming and climate change.

Chief Executive Officer Surendra Singh Rajput of Eco Tourism Development Board informed that this year the programme is being organized between December 15, 2019 and January 15, 2020. In this 1 lakh 11 thousand students will be taking part. Local people’s representatives and dignitaries also take a lot of interest in ‘Anubhuti’ programme.
