Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel announced a foodpark, sugar factory, milk chilling centre, horticulture college and by-pass road construction for Bemetara town on Saturday.
He made the announcement during a state-level Agriculture Development and Farmers Welfare Fair (Kisan Mela) organised at Bemetara. Launching the state-wide ‘Sooraji Gaon Yojana’ and releasing a related book, Chief Minister said his government is that of workers and farmers. “As promised the loan of farmers have been waived off. The government is also providing bonus on sugarcane procurement,” he added.
“Day by day the ground water level is going down. Therefore, the need of the hour is ‘Narva, Gurava, Ghurva and Baari (NGGB) so that ground water is recharged, cattle is protected and its dung is utilised as fertilizers. The Yadav community will be given remuneration for taking care of cattle. Further, the farmers should not burn their crops on fields,” the chief minister urged.
Presiding over the function, Home Minister Tamradwaj Sahu said, “Under the leadership of the current Chief Minister within two months around 20 important decisions have been taken by the government. An open jail will be opened in Bemetara.”
Agriculture minister Ravindra Choubey said, “In coming months Bemetara will become a hub of fisheries and pisciculture. The farmers should adopt the new technique learnt from here (the Kishan Mela).”
