Beginning of a Musical Journey

Tuesday, 19 February 2019 | Divya Modi | Ranchi

Music has been a part of my life for a very long time. But I never had the time to pursue it in a serious way. Off late I thought that since I feel so strongly about music, why shouldn’t I give a life and shape to my passion. That’s when the idea of doing something which I am so passionate about came”, said Anil Vaidian an aspiring lyricist, singer and composer.

Vaidian’s debut album ‘Dooriyan’ has been trending on YouTube with over one lakh views in just a week‘s time since its launch. Based in Bengaluru, Vaidian heads the Strategic Initiatives of a leading Life Insurance Company- Maxlife. An ardent musician, he prefers honing his skills and pursuing his passion in his free time.

“I used to write poetry and have always been fond of singing, it is my understanding of music which pushed me to make a video. The first line struck me while I was traveling. In fact the first few lines were written almost three years back”, recalled Vaidian. “The genesis of it is basically while I was living alone in Mumbai for sometime, away from my family back in Bengaluru and  that’s when the line ‘O re khuda tu hi bata, yeh ishq hai ya sazaa’ came to my mind.”

Trained at music schools with basic certification in vocal training and also a drum player, Anil feels he inherited his musical talent from his mother. Son of a retired Air Force officer, he has lived in Chandigarh, Kanpur and a lot of other places across the country where his father was posted. His wife is the director of a private company.

“The biggest challenge was to manage my profession, passion and my personal life. To create a quality recorded song and video, you need to spend some time. And, because I didn’t have a huge project, I had to get into everything myself. Therefore, time constraint was the biggest problem,” he added.

The music director for the video Dooriyan is Rally Godwin whereas the video in the song has been directed by Madhu Vasu. The duo has worked together for the award winning Tamil documentary called ‘Thoduvanam’.

Vaidian has about 12,000 followers on Instagram and is all geared up to make a second music video. He intends to not just sing but write his own songs as well as compose the music. His first song has also been played on various FM channels during prime time.
