Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Friday gave instructions to Chief Secretary Sunil Kujur to make necessary arrangements to lend a helping hand to Odisha in the wake of cyclone Fani causing devastation in the coastal areas of the neighbouring state.
In between his hectic election campaign in Uttar Pradesh, Baghel stole time to show concern for the cyclone affected people of Odisha. He talked to the chief secretary and instructed him to provide every possible aid to the neighbouring state.
Following CM’s instructions, the CS immediately directed the officials of concerned departments to make necessary preparations to extend help to the cyclone ravaged state.
The CS also directed the State Disaster Management Force (SDMF) to be prepared for extending help to the affected.
Baghel while giving instruction to CS said, “Odisha is not only our neighbouring state but the people there has a close cultural ties with us.
The people of the two states also share common food habits and socio-culture. In this situation when the people of Odisha are facing difficulty due to natural disaster, we stand behind them,” he added.
