Monday being the last day for filing of nominations in the Lok Sabha elections here, the five candidates of the Congress and three remaining candidates of the BJP will be filing their nominations today. The BJP candidates Tirath Singh Rawat from Garhwal and Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah from Tehri had filed their nominations earlier.
The BJP candidates from Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar, Haridwar and Almora-Pithoragarh constituencies will be filing their nominations today. Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat will be present during filing of nominations by candidates of Haridwar – Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ and Almora-Pithoragarh- Ajay Tamta while MP and former chief minister Bhagat Singh Koshyari will be present during the filing of nomination for the Nainital-Udham Singh Nagar constituency by party candidate and BJP state president Ajay Bhatt.
The BJP State media in-charge Devendra Bhasin informed that party candidate and BJP State president Ajay Bhatt will file his nomination from the Nainital constituency at Rudrapur on Monday. MP and former CM BS Koshyari along with other senior party leaders are also slated to be present on the occasion. CM Trivendra Singh Rawat and other party leaders will be present as party candidate Nishank files nomination from Haridwar. The CM will also be present during filing of nomination by the Almora candidate Ajay Tamta. After filing of the nomination, a public gathering will be organised in the afternoon in Almora.
Meanwhile, all the five candidates of the Congress will also be filing their nominations today.
