Girls trumped boys in the Jharkhand Academic Council’s (JAC) class 12 results for Arts stream declared on Tuesday by securing a pass percentage of 81.50. On the other hand, 77.91 per cent of boys, who appeared in the exams, passed.

The performance of students witnessed considerable improvement compared to last year as the total pass percentage jumped from 72.62 per cent in 2018 to 79.97 per cent this year. The results were declared by JAC chairperson Arvind Singh.

Singh attributed the improvement in the result to the hard work and dedication of students and their teachers. “At the end of the day, the credit for better results has to go to the students and their teachers. We trained our evaluators on step marking and it may have contributed to the results,” he said.
