Mega placement camp opening new avenues for engineers

At the initiative of Bhupesh Baghel-led government a-two-day long mega placement camp for graduates of government engineering colleges of the state commenced here on Monday.

The placement camp is organised at Government Engineering College, Sejbahar, Raipur.

This is the first ever state-level placement camp being organised in Chhattisgarh to provide employment opportunities to engineering graduates at national-level companies. A total of 360 students from three government engineering    colleges of the state, situated in Raipur, Bilaspur and Jagdalpur enrolled their names in the camp.

Nearly 50 reputed national and international companies of the country are taking part in this   two-day long placement camp commenced on Monday.

This camp is giving employment opportunity to students of mechanical, civil, electrical, mining, electronics, telecommunication, electrical,   electronics, computer science, IT branches by getting placed in  reputed state, national and international-level companies.

Official sources informed that to ensure 100% placement of students from government engineering and polytechnic institutions this year, Directorate of Technical Education has constituted placement cell in these institutions and has been regularly monitoring its work. In the same sequence, for better organization and conduction of campus placement, training cum workshop was organised on October 11 for placement cell representatives of government engineering colleges.

To ensure maximum participating of industrial establishment in the placement camp, a joint meeting of Skill Development, Technical Education and Employment Department and Commerce and Industry Department was held, wherein representatives of CII, FICCI, NASSCOM, Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce, Chhattisgarh Small Scale Industries Federation and other industrial groups also participated, sources said.
