The National Mineral Development Corporation is all set to embark on a digital transformation journey in the new financial year by adopting SAP software for enterprise resource planning under a project titled ‘Kalpataru.’
With this project the NMDC aims to fully integrated solution encompassing all the business functions of the organization, the corporation said in a press release.
A meeting to kick off the project took place at the NMDC head office in presence of its CMD N.Baijendra Kumar, director (commercial) Dr. T.R.K. Rao, director (production) P.K. Satpathy, director (personnel) Sandeep Tula, director (finance) Amitava Mukherjee, and chief vigilance officer V.V.S. Sreenivas.
Leadership teams from the partners Deloitte, CHiPS, Accenture and SAP also participated in the meeting.
The ERP initiative at NMDC is expected to usher in process transformation by adopting the global industry’s best practices, resulting in improved efficiency and greater transparency. This project will also provide competitive advantages to the NMDC by harnessing technologies such as loT, data analytics, AI, which will enable the NMDC to be among the leading mining and steel producers globally.
Congratulating the ERP team of the NMDC for achieving this milestone, Baijendra Kumar said that this initiative will improve the corporation’s operational efficiency, and position it as one of the most competitive and dynamic PSEs of the country.
