The Greater Noida authority has decided to celebrate the city’s 29th foundation day with a four-day long carnival that will offer race competitions, music shows, youth festivals and other cultural functions by college students.
The event will begin from January 25 and will go on till January 28 at the City Park. “We have invited institutions such as the Gautam Buddha University, Shiv Nadar University, Galgotias University, and various engineering colleges and schools to organise youth festivals to celebrate the foundation day,” said Narendra Bhooshan, chief executive officer of the Greater Noida authority.
The authority will organise a poetry recitation event. There will be folk songs by folk and sufi singers and events for college-goers.
The city, spread across 38,000 hectares acquired from 124 villages, has been developed into 26.83 per cent area recreational green area with an aim to maintain a healthy environment for residents. The residential area is spread on 25.81 per cent. The industrial area is developed on 31.46 per cent area and the remaining land is used by institutional commercial purposes.
