There is a hindrance seen in the construction of the country's first defense corridor. Farmers expressed dissatisfaction with the compensation given in the acquisition of the proposed land for defence corridor at Andala village in Aligarh.

In the acquisition of land, government and administration are giving farmers twice as much compensation as the circle rate. Whereas the farmers are demanding four times more compensation than the circle rate.

And the farmer here are in a mood to agitate for the compensation, just like the movement held in Jikarpur and Bhatta Parsaul if their demands are not fulfilled. In this movement of farmers, the Indian Farmers Union and Congress have entered. The participation of both have given strength to farmers.

Today, farmers had called a panchayat for this movement. Despite the vigil of the administration, former MP Chaudhary Vijendra Singh and State President of Bharatiya Kisan Union, Chaudhary Harpal Singh reached Andala village for this panchayat but the local administration did not let the panchayat to happen. The farmers then shouted agitation at the Shiva temple in the village and said that there will be agitation like Jikarpur Tappal (Aligarh) and Bhatta Parsol (Gautam Budh Nagar) to get four times more compensation and the movement has started buzzing.

Land acquisition work is going on in Andala village of Aligarh for country's first defense national corridor.

It may be recalled that farmers had made a big agitation in 2010 for more compensation in lieu of land acquisition for Yamuna Expressway in bhatta parsol of gautam budh nagar and jikarpur tappal of Aligarh. When the movement was fierce, there was a clash between the farmers and the police at both places and more than 10 farmers were killed by the police in firing. After this incident, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi came to Bhatta Parsaul and Zikarpur Tappal.

And after that the Central Government had prepared a policy for land acquisition and the demands of the farmers were accepted. At that time there was Mayawati's government in Uttar Pradesh.

46 hectares of land has been acquired and 10 hectares of land is in the process of acquisition. 250 hectares to be acquired further. Now farmers are not ready to give their land and are seeking four times more compensation than the circle rate. Avnish Awasthi, CEO of UPDA and Deputy Chief Secretary, Uttar Pradesh, visited Andala village and talked to farmers.

And the way industrialists are showing interest in this corridor, the government is thinking of acquiring more land.

Addressing the farmers, Vijender Singh said that “the acquisition for development of defence corridor in Aligarh is going on. When Jhansi farmers are being compensated four times the circle rate, why not the farmers of Aligarh. In Aligarh, compensation is being given twice the circle rate by the administration. When the farmer is demanding four times compensation, the police administration is threatening to throw them in a false case. Congress is with the farmers and the full report of the Andala episode has been given to Congress High Command Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi”.

At the same time, Anjani Kumar, SDM says that “ the entire situation is under watch. Some people are trying to spoil the situation. These people are also provoking the farmers who have made the decision to give their land. Action will be taken if required
