Wednesday, 08 July 2020 | Staff Reporter | Bhopal

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has taken the incident of leaving a corona patient outside the hospital seriously. Terming the incident as highly unfortunate, he has ordered an inquiry into it. He said that this incident is inhuman and condemnable. Action must be taken against the guilty.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that treatment of each patient is being ensured with the highest priority along with the work of controlling corona in the last three and a half months. The health department staff is on the alert in every district. Covid Care Centres  are functioning smoothly. In-depth review is being done from district to State level every day. Under such conditions, the incident of a critical patient being abandoned by hospital management, ambulance operator or any other person is a matter of serious concern. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that strict action will be taken against those guilty in this incident.

While reviewing the corona situation through video conference, Chief Minister Chouhan directed that the work of early identification and contact tracing of suspected corona patients should proceed with full seriousness. The work of door-to-door sampling by the survey team under Kill Corona campaign should be increased. Chouhan said that by taking more samples, the task of controlling the virus will be easier. Samples of people with symptoms of cold and cough who appear serious must be taken during the survey and treatment should be given. Public Health and Family Welfare and Home Minister Narottam Mishra, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains were present in the meeting.

Chouhan obtained district-wise information of Covid-19 control efforts. While reviewing Khandwa district, he inquired about testing and treatment work by Khandwa Medical College. Currently, 6 patients are admitted in ICU at Khandwa Medical College. Health survey of total 41,000 people was conducted.

Collector Khandwa informed that apart from the work of door-to-door survey under the Kill-Corona campaign in the district, health check-up of the concerned families has been conducted by identifying patients with cold-cough and fever through medical stores. This led to good results. Of the 510 people who underwent health screening, 16 positive patients were found. Chief Minister Chouhan said that this method adopted in Khandwa must be continued.
