Gurugram Covid-19 recovery up at 83%, says administration

Around 5,507 coronavirus patients in Gurugram have been cured till Friday. With this the district recovery rate from Covid-19 has increased from 77 per cent to 83 per cent according to data shared by the district administration on Friday.

The officials also informed that after Delhi, the rate of positive patients in Gurugram in NCR has come down from 13 percent to 11 percent and they are hopeful that this rate will come down to 10 percent in the next few days.

The total number of coronavirus cases in the city on Friday rose to 6,578 including 111 new cases. The Covid-19 toll has reached 103 in the district. Gurugram now has 968 active cases and 721 of them are in home isolation, officials added. The health department said out of 103 deaths 66 died due to comorbidities and the remaining 37 without comorbidities.

“Covid testing has been increased in the district to prevent the spread of corona infection. The department is sampling 3,000 tests a day. Which includes both types-Rapid Antigen Test and RTPCR Test. Those patients have been done on propriety. Patients are being treated based on their symptoms,” said Amit Khatri deputy commissioner Gurugram.

He also informed that treatment of corona patients will be started with plasma therapy in Gurugram and for this a plasma bank will be established soon.

“As soon as new guidelines in this regard will be released by the government, treatment of corona infected patients will be started with plasma therapy,” Khatri said.

Dr Virender Yadav, Civil Surgeon of Gurugram, said, since June 24, around 16 thousand rapid antigen tests have been conducted to identify corona patients in the district, out of which 475 persons were found to be corona positive.

“We include the number of tests done in RTPCR, Rapid Antigen Test and Private Labs, then this figure is more than 30 thousand. The most tests have been done in Patel Nagar, where the number of patients is much higher. Similarly, in Sohna, about one thousand samples have been tested and the rate of positive cases is about 10 percent,” Yadav said.

He further informed that at present 242 corona patients are admitted in different hospitals of the district, out of which 36 patients are seriously ill. “A dedicated Covid-19 facility in Gurugram, attributed this to patient care and also will power of people to brave through this crisis,” he said.

According to the order released on Friday by the administration, the district has 106 containment zones. Of these, 95 containment zones have been set up in Gurugram block, 4 in Pataudi and 7 in Sohna and Farrukhnagar have been removed from the containment zone. An area is notified as a containment zone usually when five or more cases are found and is removed from the list in 28 days.

Meanwhile, a case has been registered against the SRL lab here at Sector-18 police station for giving false reports of Corona's sample. The case has been registered on the complaint of Gurugram's civil surgeon and on the orders of Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij.

According to police spokesperson Subhash Bokan, action will be initiated against the lab as per rules.
