In a bizarre incident, a 33-year-old man, Pitambar Lenka, committed suicide by hanging after making live video in the Facebook at his Mituani village under Sarugaon GP of Khaira block in Baleswar district on Saturday.
Although the family members and neighbours tried to rescue him by breaking the door, still they failed to rescue him alive. He was found hanging with his own apparel.
According to reports, Pitambar’s wife Banita Nayak had committed suicide by hanging two years back. They have two children, daughter Baishnabi (8) and son Sandip (5). After her death, the children were staying in maternal uncle’s house at Oupada.
Pitambar was working in Mumbai and sending money for their children's maintenance. Meanwhile, Pitambar’s sister Jayanti has alleged that her brother committed suicide due to continued torture meted out to him by his in-laws.
