One more resident succumbed to the COVID-19 in the union territory of Chandigarh on Sunday while 16 fresh infections were detected.
“With this, the death toll reached 320 while the total case tally was recorded at 19881 in the city”, stated Chandigarh Health Department’s evening bulletin.According to the bulletin, a 58 years old COVID positive male resident of Sector 61, a case of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus expired at Fortis Hospital, Mohali.
There were 281 active cases till the evening. 54 patients have recovered in the past 24 hours taking the total number of recoveries to 19280, the bulletin stated.The COVID fatality rate was recorded at 1.6 percent while the recovery rate was recorded at 96.97 percent.
1.83 lakh samples have so far been tested in the city. A total of 503 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours and the report of 61 was awaited.
