The Central Bureau of Investigation has filed a supplementary charge-sheet against 8 accused in the Court of Special Judge, CBI Cases, Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) on the allegations of committing offences during the Secondary and Senior Secondary examinations conducted by NIOS in April, 2017.
Investigation revealed that large number of students, who did not even appear in the examinations, conducted by NIOS, for class X and XII at the three Examination Centers namely Sehore, Ratlam and Umaria of Madhya Pradesh, were declared as passed by NIOS.
It was alleged that the accused committed forgery and manipulations in the attendance sheets of the examination centers, answer sheets etc of the students. Further evidences in the form of used answer sheets of learners who appeared in the examination and unused answer sheets of absent learners were allegedly destroyed by the said accused.The CBI had registered the instant case on July 23, 2018 and after investigation, charge-sheet against two accused was earlier filed on May 13, 2019.
