Latehar Admin gives Rs 50k ex gratia relief to deceased kids'

Sunday, 26 June 2022 | M FAIYAZ AHMAD | DALTONGANJ

The Latehar district administration finally transferred digitally a sum of rupees 50, 000 into the bank account of Anil Ganjhu of Chandwa block whose 2 daughters had died of 'suspected food poisoning' in the first week of this June month.

Confirming this the state spokesperson of the BJP Pratul Shahdeo said Anil Ganjhu has told him on phone about the transfer of this ex gratia relief worth Rs 50,000 into his account.

He said this is the first round of assistance that reached the bereaved family which lost 2 daughters who had fallen terribly sick after consuming ready to eat food like some easily available snacks.

Pratul said his party workers would now bat for one Awas to this family under the PM Awas Yojna Gramin.

Job to one eligible in the family will be demanded also.

It is opportune to mention here that on Thursday June 23 Pratul Shahdeo and scores of his party men were detained at Chandwa when the caravan of Pratul was on way to Latehar to meet the DC Abu Imran.

The BJP spokesperson said he would now press the state food testing lab Namkum and the RIMS Ranchi to make available the testing report of the samples of the snacks that caused fatal illness to the two daughters of Anil Ganjhu and case study and post mortem report respectively so as to reach any conclusion as to what took the toll of the two daughters of Anil Ganjhu.

Police stopped them and detained them citing orders for their detention coming from 'above'.
