The Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) in the State would no more not accept manual medical certificate from persons applying for driving licence (DL).
The entire process of medical certificate required by a person to apply for driving licence or its renewal can be done online, said the State Transport Authority (STA) on Friday.
As per STA, medical certificate in form 1 (A) can be submitted electronically under the 5T policy of the State Government. The move is expected to improve the process of getting driving licence and would reduce crowding in RTO offices.
The STA said, “Necessary facility has been provided in Sarathi portal where doctors can issue medical certificate directly which eliminates process of submission of medical certificate and verification physically at RTO office.”
Notably, it is mandatory for any person above 40 years, who wishes to get a driving license or those going for driving licence renewal to produce a medical certificate under the form 1 (A) as per the Motor Vehicle Act.
