Flights fare goes northward due to festive season

Fares from buses to flights have increased due to Durga Puja. People are not getting seats even after paying more money. Tickets for flights coming to Ranchi from major cities of the country have crossed Rs 10,000. Talking about buses, seats are not available here even after paying extra money ranging from Rs 50 to Rs 100.

Not only the buses going to Bihar, seats are not available in the buses going to Chhattisgarh, Odisha. Talking about flights, passengers coming to Ranchi from metropolitan cities have to pay more than double the fare to reach Ranchi. The fare in direct, connected and multiple connected flights has gone up from Rs 20 thousand to Rs 60 thousand. The fare in Delhi, Chennai, Hyderabad and Mumbai has gone above five thousand.

According to Birsa Munda Airport Authority, currently flights are coming full from all the big cities of the country. This is the reason why the fare has also increased. The fares on flights coming from cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Hyderabad have almost doubled. Whereas seats are vacant in most of the planes going from Ranchi to the metropolis. Ranchi to Bangalore fare is available for Rs 6,753. Ranchi to Delhi general booking is available on 22nd October at Rs 7,333. Whereas, the situation in airlines is normal on Navami and Dashami.

The festive season in India started with Navratri (October 15). Navratri, Dussehra, Diwali, and Chhath will be celebrated in October and November. People travelling to their home towns to celebrate these festivals find it increasingly difficult to book train tickets.

Meanwhile, Indian Railways has announced 283 festival special trains for Diwali and Chhath Puja. According to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the special trains will make 4,480 trips during the festival season

According to the Indian Railways, the Eastern Central Railway will operate 42 trains which will make a maximum of 512 trips, and the Western Railway will operate 36 trains during the festival season time and will make a maximum of 1,262 trips.
