Health check-up of citizens living in night shelters to be conducted: CM

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan took stock of the arrangements made for the citizens in two night shelters of the capital.

Earlier tonight, he reached the night shelter located near Yadgar-e-Shahjahani Park and inspected the arrangements there. Chief Minister Chouhan apprised himself from the citizens living here about the arrangements and provision of warm clothes to protect them from cold. On reaching the night shelter, the residents welcomed Chief Minister Chouhan joyously by calling him Mama.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that there will be arrangements for health check-up of the citizens living in night shelters in Bhopal city and other cities of the state.

Citizens coming for work in big cities are busy during the day, so at night a team of doctors will come for health checkup. If serious diseases including common diseases are identified, arrangements for treatment will be made. The Chief Minister said that arrangements will be made to protect the citizens from cold by doing neccesary arrangements in the night shelters.

Chief Minister Chouhan discussed with Bhupendra Sahu of Sagar, Dashrath Prasad of Hoshangabad, Deepak of Jabalpur, Surendra Sharma of Bhopal and Babulal Kushwaha of Lalitpur (Uttar Pradesh) and sought information about the arrangements. Here, Chief Minister Chouhan tasted the food being provided to the citizens and also inspected its quality. The night shelter has approximatly 400 beds. Today about 200 citizens are living here.

Chief Minister Chouhan visited the night shelter situated in the Hamidia Hospital complex and sought information about the arrangement of beds, warm clothes and food for the citizens. Chief Minister Chouhan also interacted with the citizens. Dalpat Singh Yadav of Narsinghpur district and Sonu of Bhopal told that they are getting necessary facilities in the night shelter. In this night shelter of Hamidia Hospital, Prerna Seva Trust also provides assistance in arranging food. Today 23 citizens are availing the night shelter facility with a total capacity of 66 beds.
