Dr Atul Kothari, an academician and National Secretary of the Education Culture Utthan Nyas, New Delhi, on Monday said that Indian knowledge tradition mentioned in the National Education Policy (NEP) has to play key role in promoting innovation.
He said this at the inaugural session of a two-day workshop on the implementation of Indian knowledge tradition. It was held by Guru Ghasidas University (Central University) and Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas, New Delhi.
Addressing the event. he hailed the university for academic innovation and innovative research and said GGU was playing a key role in it.
Professor Nilambari Dave, ex Vice-Chancellor, Saurashtra University, Gujarat, was present in the event as a special guest. Vice-Chancellor GGU, Prof. Amit Kumar Saxena, presided over the programme.
Dr. Kothari said they were creating such paths through academic courses which many universities will follow in the coming times.
Prof. Saxena said the work of curriculum preparation will be done at the Central University in accordance with National Education Policy with the assistance of subject experts of the Indian knowledge tradition.
