10,000 arms licenses in Bhopal district suspended

With the imposition of code of conduct for Lok Sabha elections came into force, about 10000 arms licenses of Bhopal district have been suspended.

In the next 7 days, weapons will have to be deposited at police stations or arms dealers. If this is not done, a case of violation of the code of conduct will be registered.

About 10000 people have arms licenses in Bhopal district. They will have to surrender their licenses till the code of conduct remains in force.

Such government officers and employees who are engaged in election work. Police, bank guards, people holding weapons under any religion, law and tradition, paramilitary forces etc. are allowed to keep weapons. The arms licenses of the remaining people have been suspended. This order will remain in force until the election code of conduct is over.
