BJD, BJP consider Odisha people ‘fool’: Cong

Friday, 15 March 2024 | PNS | BHUBANESWAR

Amid talks of a BJP-BJD alliance for the 2024 elections, the Congress on Thursday targeted both parties over the seat-sharing issue.

Taking a dig at both BJD and BJP, Campaign Committee chairperson of Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) Bijay Kumar Patnaik said, “BJD and BJP are considering people of Odisha ‘fool’. They think that people will accept whatever these two parties will do here in the State.”

“However, people watch and know everything. They know who is running to Delhi again and again. Both BJD and BJP have been together since long. The BJD had opposed the no-confidence motion against BJP on the Manipur violence. This indicated that both are ‘anti-women’ governments,” Patnaik said.

Last week, the Congress had performed ‘Annaprasana’ of 10 ‘scam’ babies born from the “BJP-BJD secret wedding”.

The party alleged that the BJP and BJD gave birth to 10 children following their union. The children are mining scam, chit fund scandal, inflation, crimes against women, exploitation by middlemen, irregularities in government schemes, acquisition of tribal land, power issues and sale of government jobs.

A few weeks ago, the Congress had organised a symbolic wedding between the BJD and BJP to expose their alleged nexus.
