In view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, on the orders of Collector Dhar Priyank Mishra and under the direction of Assistant Excise Commissioner Dhar Vikramdeep Sangar a team led by Assistant District Excise Officer RS Rai while taking action on illegal transportation of liquor, a suspicious Swift car was chased in Naugaon based on the information, then the driver of the car, accused Ajju alias Michael, turned the car towards the MPEB office and started running away due to the narrow road.
While driving away the car, he parked the car in an empty plot in Shukla Colony (Naugaon) Dhar and fled from the spot. After that, in a Maruti Swift car with vehicle number MP09 CD 3258, 5 boxes of London Pride Whiskey Pav and 10 boxes of Lemon Can Beer were found from the spot. The excise team recovered a total of 163.2 bulk liters of liquor, A case was registered under section 34(1)(a), 34(2) of the Excise Act 1915 and taken into consideration. The total estimated value of the seized vehicles and the liquor loaded in them is approximately Rs 365000/-.
