A fire broke out in the warehouse of a catering service provider shop in Bagh Mughaliya area of Bhopal at around 10 am on Friday. Many houses and slums have been built around the warehouse.

It took more than two hours for 10 fire tender vehicles to pacify the fire.

With the help of JCB, the fire brigade reached the warehouse by making a path.

Eyewitnesses said that the fire first broke out in curtains and other clothing items. More than 5 employees present in the warehouse tried to extinguish it. During this time, three gas cylinders exploded one after the other. The employees saved their lives by escaping the spot . The tin shed of the godown fell about 50 feet away.

It was also alleged that refilling was done with domestic gas cylinders in the warehouse.

Fire Officer Neel said that there is a warehouse of the catering service in Arvind Vihar. Domestic LPG cylinders are also found here.

After the fire tender vehicles failed to reach the fire to pacify it the walls of the warehouse were demolished with the help of JCB. After this the fire could be extinguished.

After the fire in the warehouse, there was chaos in the area as soon as the sound of the blast was heard. People collected essential items and left their homes.

It is estimated that 50 to 60 gas cylinders are kept in the warehouse of the tent house. The fire went out of control due to the explosion of some of these cylinders.

Fire tender Pankaj Khare said that along with extinguishing the fire, safely removing the gas cylinders was also a big challenge.

Many LPG cylinders were found kept in the warehouse of the Vishwajan tent house.

Municipal corporation staff, district administration and police jointly conducted the operation to extinguish the fire. The walls of the warehouse were demolished with the help of JCB. Police stopped people from going to the spot by barricading 200 meters in advance.
