CEO Jharkhand exhorts voters in Dhanbad

Chief Electoral Officer, Jharkhand, K Ravi Kumar today participated in the human chain program organized at Shaheed Randhir Prasad Verma Stadium (Golf Ground), Dhanbad. On this occasion, he appealed to the voters to ensure their participation in democracy by exercising their franchise. Emphasizing the need to create a cheerful atmosphere for voting, he said that this will enable more and more people to take active part in the voting process.

He asked the urban voters to be aware of being voters and on the day of voting, they must come out of their homes and reach their respective polling stations to exercise their franchise. He said that there is still time to get names added to the electoral list.

The date for receipt of Form 6 for adding names to the voter list in different Lok Sabha constituencies has been fixed by the Election Commission of India. Form 6 will be received through BLO till 26th April in Dhanbad. Considering April 1, 2024 as the eligibility date, other eligible citizens aged 18 years and above who are left out can fill and submit Form 6 to get their names added to the voter list. The online process for adding names is also going on. Voters can also check their name in the voter list online. He said that preparations have been made by the local administration to conduct peaceful voting. He said that voting is on 25th May in Dhanbad.

The Chief Electoral Officer observed the human chain. Also, after inspecting various stalls set up for voter awareness in the stadium, they became aware of various activities of the SVEEP programme. Also, by blowing balloons, a message was given to the voters to vote. Apart from this, signatures were signed in the signature campaign and voters were motivated to vote by taking selfies at the selfie booth.

Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner Madhavi Mishra gave information about the programs to be organized as per the calendar prepared under the sweep to increase the voting percentage in the human chain program. The work of adding names to the voter list is also going on simultaneously. He said that to make voters aware, Voter Awareness Forum has also been formed in commercial/private institutions and government undertakings. He appealed to the voters of Dhanbad to cast their vote on 25th May.

Chief Electoral Officer K Ravi Kumar, Dhanbad District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Madhavi Mishra along with Municipal Commissioner Raviraj Sharma, Additional Collector Vinod Kumar, ADM Law and Order Hema Prasad, DRDA Director Rajiv Ranjan, Deputy Election Officer Kalidas Munda and other officials, District Icon, participants of various competitions. Apart from this, a large number of voters and other citizens of Dhanbad participated.

The Chief Electoral Officer honoured Dhanbad's District Icon Shweta Kinnar and District Icon for Disabled Voters Pramod Kumar Yadav, who played an important role in voter awareness. Also honored the best participants of various competitions organized in Dhanbad. Raj Priya Singh was honoured for the best performance in the poetry competition. Also, in the quiz competition - Aditi Kumari, in the dart game competition - Suman Kumari, in the slogan writing competition - Aastha Kumari, in the mehndi competition - Juhi Kumari, in the drawing competition - Swati Rani, in the painting competition - Rupa Chauhan was awarded the best performance.
