City soaks in festive spirit to celebrate Ram Temple consecration

The Capital city of the State has turned saffron ahead of Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya on Monday, January 22. Saffron flags with Lord Ram’s imprints have eclipsed the skyline in all major squares, roads, streets and localities  of the city, while ‘shobha yatras’ were also taken out in many areas of the Capital city celebrating the festival-like atmosphere on Sunday.

Every nook and corner of the city has adorned saffron flags and banners with people in residential societies, colonies and individually also planning to make January 22, 2024 historic on the occasion of Lord Sri Ram’s temple consecration in Ayodhya. People will visit temples, light earthen lamps and watch the ceremony live on television in large numbers on the day. Bhajan Sandhya programmes have been organized in the main road of Ranchi.   

The government has also ordered all schools to be closed on Monday. The Chief Minister has directed the Chief Secretary to give half-day leave in all government offices. Government offices will open from 2.30 pm while government schools will remain closed for the whole day. It is noteworthy that the Central Government has also announced a half-day holiday in all government offices on January 22. There will also be a half-day holiday in the country's largest government hospital, AIIMS (Delhi).

BJP MP Sanjay Seth had written a letter to Hemant Soren government demanding declaration of holiday in Jharkhand on January 22. Earlier, Leader of Opposition Amar Kumar Bauri had also written a letter to the government demanding declaration of holiday in schools and government establishments in Jharkhand.

Meanwhile, strict security arrangements have been made by administration and police regarding Ramotsav in the entire State. Police forces have been deployed at various places. Also, police are keeping special vigil at sensitive places. A special police team has been formed to keep an eye on social media. Ranchi Police are  fully alert to ensure that there is no disturbance in the festive atmosphere and tension does not spread in the society. Special surveillance is being maintained in those areas of the capital where cases of communal tension have been reported in the past.

Special worship programs are scheduled in more than 50 temples of the capital. Big celebrations are being celebrated at many places. In such a situation, more than one and a half thousand forces have been deployed across the district in view of security. The force has been deployed from 21 to 23 January.

Ranchi Senior SP Chandan Kumar Sinha said that apart from the district police, RAF, JAP and IRB personnel have also been deployed for the security arrangements of the capital. Maximum forces will be deployed especially in highly sensitive areas. Apart from the force, fire brigade, water cannon and Vajra vehicles have also been deployed in highly sensitive areas. They themselves are monitoring the security.

The SSP said that apart from the DSP, all the inspectors and police station in-charges have been deployed separately for security. The police will deal strictly with those who spoil the atmosphere of the city. Police station officers across the city have been instructed to patrol their respective areas. If any person tries to disturb social harmony in any way, then take strict action against him. The SSP has also instructed the police station officers to continuously run anti-crime checking campaigns in their respective areas.

It is noteworthy that just a week ago, all the CCTVs installed at the intersections of the capital city, have been repaired. Policemen have been deployed in the police control room to monitor the city through CCTV. Programs in Ranchi will be monitored through drone cameras. A team of Ranchi Police is also keeping a close watch on social media. The Cyber cell has also been instructed to keep an eye on social media.
