CM announces development works worth Rs 778.14 crore for Nainital district

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday announced development works worth Rs 778.14 crore on the occasion of laying the foundation stone of Kathgodam Roadways Bus Terminal at Haldwani’s Kathgodam in Nainital district. He announced that the roadways bus terminal, regional transport office and driving centre will be constructed in Haldwani as part of the government’s development project which will benefit the entire Kumaon region. This will also increase employment opportunities and the number of tourists. He said that these works in Haldwani should have been completed many years ago but past governments failed to do it due to lack of will. This work will be now completed by the BJP-led government. He said that the State government is working hard to provide all kinds of facilities to all citizens with development projects. The government is moving forward with a clear vision to build a fully developed State. “The government is working on the overall development of every area of the State and we are rapidly moving on the path of progress under the supervision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Our government has not just announced development schemes but is implementing them at the ground level. The government is laying the foundation stones of all schemes and inaugurating the completed project as per the scheduled time,” Dhami said. He said that the government is running special campaigns for infrastructure, environmental protection and modern development as well as cultural development in the State. The government is preparing plans to create new employment opportunities to stop migration, promote tourism and improve the infrastructure of the State. Union minister of State for Defense and Tourism Ajay Bhatt also said on the occasion that the State is moving on the path of consistent progress. He said that the atmosphere of Haldwani will also change after the completion of the development works announced by the CM.  Several development works considered by the PM for the State will also be executed at the ground level, he added. Dhami also presented cheques to 10 beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. He presented cheques worth Rs 4.65 crore to 10 self help groups under the National Rural Livelihood Mission. Besides this, he also presented cheques worth Rs 10,000 each to 40 meritorious female students belonging to the minority community of Nainital district. He also gave motorised tricycles and wheelchairs to 17 disabled people.
