Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai launched the Child Marriage Free Chhattisgarh Campaign in Raipur on Sunday.
The campaign will be conducted by the Women and Child Development Department in collaboration with UNICEF.
Sai unveiled a brochure for the campaign and administered an oath to everyone to stop child marriage.
As per a National Family Health Survey, 12.1 percent of girls in the state are married before the age of 18.
Child marriage occurs highest in Surajpur district at 34.28 percent, followed by Balrampur and Koria districts at 24.60 and 22.89 percent respectively.
