In a recent meeting convened at the Collectorate Auditorium, Deputy Commissioner  Ananya Mittal emphasised the need for accelerated development efforts and mutual coordination among stakeholders. The meeting, chaired by Mittal, saw the participation of various officials including Deputy Development Commissioner  Manish Kumar, SDM Dhalbhum  Piyush Sinha, Additional Deputy Commissioner  Rohit Sinha, Civil Surgeon Dr. Jujhar Majhi, Director NEP  Jyotsna Singh, and other departmental officers.

During the meeting,  Mittal underscored the importance of ensuring that public welfare schemes of the government reach all deserving individuals. Special attention was also directed towards the ongoing filariasis eradication program, with  Mittal urging cooperation from all residents in taking DEC and Albendazole medicines distributed as part of the campaign.

Furthermore, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the necessity for 100% physical verification of applicants for the Abua housing scheme to ensure that only eligible beneficiaries receive the benefits. Transparency and quality were highlighted as crucial aspects in the implementation of development plans.

Mittal urged Block Development Officers to closely monitor development plans, stressing the importance of timely execution without compromising on quality. Additionally, instructions were given for the timely execution of issues discussed in previous meetings.

Notably, the state government has extended the Chief Minister State Old Age Pension Scheme to women, Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Scheduled Caste (SC) individuals aged 50-60 years. To ensure maximum coverage, camps will be organized at the Panchayat level, with efforts underway to publicize the scheme effectively.

Mittal also reviewed progress across various government schemes, including the Chief Minister Livestock Development Scheme, where he directed officials to increase awareness among beneficiaries regarding available subsidies.

DEC and Albendazole medicines are being distributed by health workers in all the blocks of the district from February 10 to February 25. Children below 2 years of age, pregnant women and people suffering from serious diseases should not consume this medicine. The target is to provide medicines to 85 percent of the total population of the district. This program is being conducted under the supervision of Anganwadi Sevika and Sahiya of the Health Department. To make this program successful, 4339 drug administrators and 254 supervisors have been trained in the district.

In the course of review of the work done under the Abuva Housing Scheme, he said that he will ensure that the benefits of these ambitious schemes of the government reach all the beneficiaries. He instructed all the Block Development Officers and Circle Officers to speed up the verification of the applications received and make it 100% as soon as possible. He said that there is a need to do physical verification of the applications within the stipulated time frame, so that all the eligible beneficiaries can get the benefit of Abua Housing.
