DEO Bokaro unveils electoral insights

During a press conference organized at the Collectorate Auditorium, District Electoral Officer Vijaya Jadhav provided information regarding the electoral process. Among those present at the event were Police Superintendent  Pujya Prakash and other officials.

 

On the final day for withdrawal of nominations from the Giridih Parliamentary Constituency, two candidates, Usha Devi and Puja Kumari, withdrew their names. This leaves a total of 16 candidates in the electoral fray. Election symbols have been allocated to all candidates. Besides the three candidates from recognized national and state political parties, there are candidates from six registered political parties and seven independents.

 

DEO Jadhav,  mentioned that due to the increased number of candidates, an additional Ballot Unit (BU) will be deployed at all polling stations, along with supplementary randomization. Furthermore, a second randomization process for polling personnel (Presiding Officer, Polling Officer I, Polling Officer II, and Polling Officer III) has been completed.

 

She informed that the district has a total of 1,801,845 voters, with an addition of 57,564 new voters. Special arrangements have been made to ensure free, fair, and unbiased elections, in line with the directives from the Election Commission. Webcasting will be conducted at all polling centers, with a dry run scheduled for May 23. General, police, and expenditure observers have arrived in the district to oversee the entire election process. Any issues related to polling centers can be addressed to the concerned officials at the Bokaro Parishad Sabha Hall, B.S. City, from 4 PM to 5 PM.

 

Pujya Prakash, the Police Superintendent, assured that an adequate number of security forces will be deployed to ensure peaceful elections. Vigilance is being maintained throughout the district, and prompt actions are being taken to address any issues. Three cases of violations of the Model Code of Conduct have been registered, and appropriate measures are being taken.

 

Also present at the event were Assistant Electoral Officer /AC Mumtaz Ansari, Pratibha Kujur , District Public Relations Officer  Saket Kumar Pandey  and Assistant Public Relations Officer Avinash Kumar Singh, and other officials.
