Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Wednesday reviewed the implementation of welfare schemes and maintenance of law and order situation in the state with Collectors and Superintendents of Police here.

The Chief Minister said the schemes of the state and Central governments should be made accessible to everyone.

Collectors were directed to ensure that the district administration delivers the government schemes to the people without any negligence or irregularities.

“The image of the government is shaped by the way Collectors and SPs work. Our farmers are the 'Annadatas' and the district administration should ensure that the government work of farmers is completed within the prescribed time period,” he said.

Sai also exhorted for adequate use of DMF fund and said it was meant for the development of affected areas at the vicinity of mines.

This amount should be spent to provide health, education, drinking water, roads and means of livelihood, he said.

The Centre had laid down rules to ensure optimal utilization of the DMF amount. These rules should be strictly followed to avoid any misuse, he added.

Reviewing the ongoing tendu patta procurement in the state, he said the pluckers should be provided timely payment of wages along with the benefits of various schemes.

“Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, our government has decided to build 18 lakh houses. The eligible beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, who were deprived of the benefits for the past five years, should get the housing facility under the scheme at the earliest. All the houses approved under the scheme should be completed in an expedited manner,” he said.

The Chief Minister said the security camp established to control Maoism in Bastar should have the image of a convenience camp among the people.

He said his government has started the 'Niyad Nellanar Scheme' to provide basic facilities to the people. Under this scheme, all types of basic facilities should be provided in rural areas within a radius of 5 kilometers around the camp.
