Hearing-impaired to be skilled in hospitality sector

Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (SSEPD) Department has taken initiative to impart skill training for hearing impaired youths in hospitality sector.

 

150 youths in five batches will be trained through the Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition.

 

The institute, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Tourism, will provide necessary skill training for the purpose, as envisaged in an MoU with the Department.

 

Principal Secretary, SSEPD Department Bishnupada Sethi said that necessary skill training to PwDs will open more vistas for gainful employment in hotel and hospitality sector.

 

The State Government gives importance on creating more employment opportunities among PwDs, he said.

 

In the presence of senior officers , Special Secretary SSEPD Dillip Kumar Ray and institute  Principal Sharada Ghosh were signatories.
