Inter-State Coordination Committee meeting held at PHQ, Jharkhand

Director General of Police, Jharkhand, Ajay Kumar Singh along with Director Generals of Police and senior police officers of the border states of Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh in view of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 held a meeting of the Inter-State Coordination Committee was held through video conferencing.

 

At the beginning of the meeting, Additional Director General of Police Operations, Sanjay Anandrao Lathkar, while welcoming all the present officials and senior officials of the Border States through video conferencing, highlighted the importance of this meeting for the preparation of Lok Sabha elections 2024. In the meeting, the DGP, Jharkhand mainly discussed about active sharing of intelligence information, appointment of nodal officer, action being taken in the light of Left Wing Extremism scenario, mutual discussion on problems arising in the border areas. The outline of the action plan of the mechanism for cooperation, effective prevention of smuggling of drugs and illicit liquor, curbing the activities of Naxalites/criminal elements in the border areas and inter-state coordination meetings at all levels were discussed.

 

Inspector General of Police, Operations-cum-State Police Nodal Officer, Jharkhand stressed on timely exchange of intelligence for effective action against the activities of Naxalites operating in the border area, smuggling of illegal weapons, narcotics and illicit liquor. Also, emphasis was laid on establishing coordination and running active campaigns against Naxalite groups operating in the border states of Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar and West Bengal.

In this meeting, there was discussion on making the check posts/blocks established in all the border states more effective and an effective strategy was made so that concrete action could be taken against criminals and smuggling of illegal weapons, narcotics, illegal drugs and illicit liquor.

 

There should be frequent coordination meetings at all levels, the updated list of criminals, fugitives and history sitters active in the border areas will be shared.

 

In order to further strengthen the coordination meetings being held at the headquarters level as well as regional/regional level, also at the police station level of the border districts, emphasis was laid on taking immediate effective action by forming a mutual consensus.

 

In this meeting, RK Mallik, ADG, Headquarters, Dr. Sanjay Anandrao Lathkar, ADG, Operations, Akhilesh Jha, IG, Ranchi, Jharkhand, Amol Vinukant Homkar, IG, Operations, were present in this meeting from Jharkhand Police Auditorium. -Co-State Police Nodal Officer, Jharkhand, Prashant Kumar, IG, Special Branch, Aseem Vikrant Minj, IG, Anoop Virthare, DIG, Indrajit Mahatha, DIG Dhananjay Kumar, DGP, Odisha, Arun Kumar Sarangi, Director (Intelligence), SK Priyadarshi, ADG (Operations) S. Devdoot Singh and other senior police officers of Odisha and Chhattisgarh Police through video conferencing were present.
