In view of the model code of conduct for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, another major action taken by the Excise Department Ujjain against illegal liquor collection.
Under the direction of Collector Neeraj Singh and under the guidance of Assistant Excise Commissioner Rajnarayan Soni, Excise Sub Inspector in-charge of Circle Badnagar (B) Vandana Mori led Excise Team, on the basis of accurate information received from the informer arrested a liquor smuggler driving Xcent car MP04 EE 2406 which was stopped at Jafla Phata near Sangam intersection. During the systematic search of the vehicle, a total of 18 boxes of country plain liquor. Whose total quantity was 162 bulk litres and vehicle Xcent MP04 EE 2406 was seized , Whose total estimated value is Rs 4,63,000.
Excise sub-inspector Vandana Mori registered a case under section 34(1)(a) and 34(2) of the Madhya Pradesh Excise Act against the accused Gopal, son of Ramesh Hansraj, caste Harijan, age 27 years, resident of Gujri ward 10, tehsil Dharmapuri district Dhar, and arrested him. And the accused was presented in the Court and sent to jail and the case was taken up for investigation. The investigation is going on.
