On the occasion of National Voters' Day, a program was organized in the Collectorate premises on Thursday. On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Dr. Waghmare Prasad Krishna first made all the voters take a pledge to exercise their franchise with full faith in democracy. He said that in a democratic country Every citizen of 18 years of age has the equal right to vote. All of you will follow the pledge taken today on Voters' Day in letter and spirit. If we exercise our right to vote in elections, the country will reach the highest level of progress. The Deputy Commissioner especially congratulated the new voters for joining the voter list today.
Superintendent of Police Haris Bin Zaman said that initially in some countries only the rich and prosperous and educated people had the right to vote. In independent India, everyone got the right to use their votes in elections. Election is the biggest festival of democracy. When you participate in elections, exercise your right to vote fearlessly. In the programme, 13 new voters in the age group of 18-19 years, 05 voters in the age group above 80 years and 04 voters from the disabled category were honored by giving them bouquets and covering them with shawls. Voter ID cards were also provided to new voters. 16 BLOs, 07 BLO supervisors and election office personnel who carried out better programs in the Special Revision Program-2024 were honored with certificates.
Land Acquisition Officer Jai Jyoti Samanta, Deputy Election Officer Narayan Ram, District Council Member Kisko Sandeep Kumar, District Supply Officer, District Social Welfare Officer, District Agriculture Officer, Under Registrar Lohardaga and others were present in the programme.
