Police arrest one person with 13 kg Ganja

The State Police has taken action against drug trade which is growing with rapid speed in the State. On the basis of secret information received by Ranchi Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Chandan Kumar Sinha the police team took action under the leadership of Kotwali DySP, Prakash Soe. During this time, a person was arrested with 13 kg of ganja and other intoxicants near ITI bus stand of Pandara OP area.

The name of the arrested smuggler is Ajit Kumar Sahu, he is originally from Adki police station area of Khunti, and currently lives in Pandara. City SP Rajkumar Mehta gave this information in a press conference in his office on Sunday.

The arrested accused Ajit Kumar told the police that he used to do illegal business of ganja for personal profit. Ajit has a criminal history. In the year 1999, he went to jail from Adki police station, Khunti.

Meanwhile, criminals looted jewelery worth more than Rs 1 lakh from a jewelery shopkeeper in Madhukam area of Ranchi. Jewelery shopkeeper Shyam Prasad was going somewhere on a scooter at the time of the incident, at the same time two criminals chasing him on a bike forcibly stopped him and looted jewelery worth more than Rs 1 lakh from him at gunpoint. Police are investigating the matter. An FIR has been registered in this matter today in Sukhdevnagar police station.

In the statement given to the police, Shyam Prasad has said that his jewelery shop is in Piska Mod. Last night, he was going somewhere on a scooty after closing the shop with his nephew. Meanwhile, two criminals forcibly stopped his scooter near Madhukam Crown School. The criminals riding the bike were following them from a long distance, but due to it being night, they could not understand. Both the criminals held them at gunpoint, robbed them of their jewellery, and left. He said that the jewelery was kept in a bag. The criminals also took away the keys of the shop and locker along with the jewellery.
