The Ministry of Forestry and Climate Change in Chhattisgarh issued an order on Wednesday renaming the Oxygen Park at Mahamaya Mountain in Surguja district as Ganpati Dham.
Surguja Collector Vilas Bhoskar and Principal Chief Conservator of Forests V. Srinivas Rao campaigned for the name change.
Any non-forestry activity on this mountain will require approval from the Ministry of Environment and Forest in New Delhi under the Forest Protection and Promotion Act, 1980.
