Head and Principal Scientist, CIPET: SARP Dr Smita Mohanty, who emphasised the importance of green plastics and the need for citizen engagement in adopting eco-friendly habits. She highlighted the significance of understanding the decomposing process of green plastics.
Consultant, Infrastructure and Superintendent Engineer (RTD.), Works Department, Bimal Das spoke about the detrimental effects of plastic pollution on oceans and water bodies. He urged the audience to consider transforming plastic usage into a more sustainable practice.
Dillip Kumar Dash, representing the Odisha Pollution Control Board, emphasized the necessity of phasing out fossil fuels and carbon emissions by 2070. He stressed the importance of creating awareness about the impact of carbon emissions and adopting a healthier lifestyle.
Founder and Director of Carbonout Pradipta Panigrahi discussed the need for innovative solutions to address environmental challenges. He highlighted Odisha's commitment to achieving sustainable development goals, aiming to celebrate its centenary in 2036.
The symposium was attended by a diverse audience, including researchers, architects, builders, Government stakeholders, and other environmentally-conscious individuals.
