Three Maoists arrested, arms recovered in a joint operation

In a significant breakthrough, a joint operation conducted by Chaibasa Police, Cobra units, and CRPF teams has led to the arrest of three members of the banned CPI(Maoist) in the Kolhan area. The operation was initiated following reports of subversive activities by the Naxalite squad, which included top leaders Misir Besra, Anmol, Mochhu, Chaman, Kande, Ajay Mahato, Sagen Angriya, and Ashwin, along with their associates.

 

According to a police official:  "This joint operation was the result of meticulous planning and coordination between various law enforcement agencies. It underscores our unwavering commitment to rid the region of Naxalite influence and maintain peace."

 

On 15th March 2024, intelligence regarding the presence of a CPI(Maoist) squad in the forest area near Paral, Rairowa, prompted the joint operation team to take action. The operation continued on 16th March 2024, near the village Rela Paral and Rairowa in Panchaltab, resulting in the apprehension of three Naxalite members.

 

The arrested individuals have been identified as Rohit Padam, aged approximately 30 years; Yulip Jojo, aged approximately 20 years; and Basu Bahanda, aged approximately 32 years. They are wanted in several cases registered against them, including but not limited to cases at Tonto police station and Jetteya police station.

 

"These arrests mark a significant victory in our ongoing efforts to combat Naxalite insurgency in the region," stated an official of CRPF. "We remain steadfast in our commitment to ensure the safety and security of the people."

 

During the operation, a significant cache of weapons, explosives, and other materials were recovered from a Naxalite dump. This includes a .303 rifle, ammunition, explosives, syringe mechanisms, improvised bombs, electronic devices, and literature related to Naxalite ideology.

 

"For security reasons, explosives found at the site were defused by the bomb disposal squad," a member of the bomb disposal squad. "We are continuously vigilant to neutralize any potential threats posed by such dangerous materials."

 

The joint operation team comprised personnel from Chaibasa Police, Cobra units, and CRPF teams, showcasing a unified effort to combat Naxalite activities in the region.

 

This successful operation underscores the commitment of law enforcement agencies to maintain peace and security in the Kolhan area. Further investigations are underway to dismantle the Naxalite network and bring the perpetrators to justice.

 

During the operation, a significant cache of weapons, explosives, and other materials were recovered from a Naxalite dump. This includes a .303 rifle, ammunition, explosives, syringe mechanisms, improvised bombs, electronic devices, and literature related to Naxalite ideology.

 

For security reasons, explosives found at the site were defused by the bomb disposal squad. The recovery also included various essential life-saving medicines and other daily use goods.
