Under the guidance of Prof. (Dr) Ajai Singh, Executive Director, AIIMS Bhopal, on the occasion of World Glaucoma Week, Glaucoma awareness campaign was run at AIIMS, Bhopal from March 10 to March 16, 2024.
Pamphlets regarding prevention and detection of glaucoma were distributed to the patients in the Ophthalmology OPD of AIIMS Bhopal. Through various activities throughout the week, patients and their families were made aware about the seriousness of glaucoma and its early identification and treatment. MBBS PG and Nursing students enthusiastically participated in this awareness campaign.
They made posters on the topic of Glaucoma, played street plays and conducted health discussions. Family members of glaucoma patients are vulnerable to this disease. The main objective of this day is to prevent permanent blindness caused by glaucoma by encouraging people to get their eyes examined regularly.
