BU fails to declare final semester results

Friday, 21 June 2013 | Staff Reporter | Bhopal

Barkatullah University (BU) failed to maintain the deadline of declaring final semester results; Department of Higher Education (DHE) had ordered all the universities in the State to declare the final semester results by June 20. Students will lose an academic year if results are not declared on time.

BU administration had declared results of only B.Com, BBA and llB results till now while the results of main courses like B.Sc and BA are still awaited. It is worth mentioning that BU courses are lagging behind the academic calendar.

The gap between fifth and sixth semester examinations are only fourth months while according to norms there should be at least six months’ gap between two consecutive semester examinations.

B.Com and BBA sixth examinations concluded by third week of May and university took over 20 days in declaring the results while the B.Sc and BA examinations concluded on June 18 so it is considered that university will take around 20 more days in declaring the results of these courses.

BU administration got pulled up by DHE Commissioner VS Niranjan in January 2013 for lagging behind the academic calendar then university administration assured that university will complete the ongoing courses in time.

Students who have appeared in the Bsc and BA examination will be affected most due to delay in declaring of results. Online registrations for admission in post-graduate courses in the colleges of State will be closed on June 24 while most of the BU students will not get their results by that time.

BU Registrar Sanjay Tiwari said that results of most of the subjects have been prepared, only of papers organised on June 18 are remaining. All the results will be declared in next few days only.
