The Chief Secretary RS Sharma discussed various problems relating to the Mineral Area Development Authority (MADA) with the officials of the Urban Development Department on Tuesday at the Project Building.
He pointing out at the major issue of water supply by MADA which is an integral part of its operation and should be continued as it also facilitates self-sustainability of the organisation. He said that approval of maps beyond Dhanbad urban area should be also be handed over to MADA.
CS stressed on the assessment of manpower of MADA employees by Dhanbad Municipal Corporation (DMC). He wanted a detailed report of employees retiring soon and suggested devising a transparent system for adjusting the employees cadre-wise and based upon the seniority.
The Principal Secretary, Urban Development Department, A K Singh described the major functions of MADA. Jharia Mines Board, Jharia Water Board and Chas town planning have been reportedly merged to form MADA under Bihar Coal Mining Area Development Authority, Act 1986.
The Finance Secretary, A P Singh, Dhanbad, Deputy Commissioner & Managing Director, MADA, S N Upadhyay and other officials were present in the meeting.
