Police on Friday arrested a middle-aged man, Siva Shankar Das alias Bapi hailing from Taradapada village, six km from here, on the charge of raping a minor girl of the same village.
The accused, during the Holi celebration on Thursday lured the girl paying her Rs 12 to purchase colour, took her to an isolated location on the village outskirts and raped her.
The victim narrated the incident to her parents, who lodged an FIR at the Jagatsinghpur police station.
The police arrested Das man from the village and sent the girl for medical examination at the District Headquarters Hospital here.
