The UT Administration on Tuesday had to cut a sorry figure over the issues of industrialists in the city.
In a meeting convened by Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) at New Delhi to resolve issues of industrialists here, the MHA sought the status of implementation of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (MSMED) Act, 2006 in the city.
The meeting was held under MHA Joint Secretary (UT Division) and attended by UT senior officials and joint forum of industries.
The MHA also inquired about the industrial policy of Chandigarh, which the UT Administration has failed to notify.
Sources said that the Ministry asked the UT Administration to implement the MSMED Act and also bring in an industrial policy in the city.
During the meeting, the issues related to transfer of leasehold plots to freehold, violation of building bylaws, need-based changes and enhancement of floor-area ratio (FAR) were also deliberated upon.
