Shia Cleric, Maulana Kalbe Jawwad vows to support Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) if the party resolve Delhi based Waqf properties issue. He would write this to new Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal.

"We have seen many corrupt governments and political parties in the past few decades. In such an environment, AAP is hope for all those betrayed by them," said Maulana here on Sunday.

Notably, the cleric stood up against previous Congress led Delhi government on illegal encroachments on Waqf properties including Dargah Shah-e-Mardan and Mayurvihar Karbala. He also opposed razing mosques in Delhi’s Mahrauli area.

Cleric said: "Arvind Kerjriwal is an honest man and I expect that he would resolve the issue which remained pending in the regime of previous government."

The cleric showed seriousness to the issue that even roared on turf of Congress leaders in Rae Bareily and Amethi by staging road shows. In the rallies, he demanded that illegal encroachments should be removed from the Waqf properties and strict action should be taken against the official involved in this.

"After sometime, Maulana is likely to visit Delhi where he could be meeting Kejriwal personally for discussing over the issue," said sources.

Giving last chance to other political parties, Cleric said he has no personal enmity with other political parties but he will extend support to that political in elections which will work for betterment of community.

Since, AAP showed its strengthen and popularity in Delhi Assembly Elections, the Muslim fraternity of the state was seen keen towards the party for better governance.

Before Delhi Elections, Kejriwal went to meet Barelvi Cleric, Tauqeer Raza Khan asking for his support. After meeting, even the cleric showed his respect towards AAP leader. Khan is also decedent of Aala Hazrat, after whom Dargah Aala Hazrat was named in Bareilly District. Dargah being a centre for Bareilvi Muslim sect, AAP could get support from there too, which comprises major part of Muslims.

In the state capital and other districts large number of people have been asking membership of AAP and has shown their willingness to work for it in upcoming lok Sabha Elections. "Seeing such response from the Muslim fraternity of the state, AAP leaders could meet the clerics asking  for their support in the upcoming lok Sabha Elections," said sources in party.
