As already forecast, the Paradip Port Trust (PPT) has created an all-time history for the port by handling the traffic of about 68 million tonnes (MT) in the financial year of 2013-14 under the leadership of PPT Chairman Sudhanshu Sekhara Mihsra.
The port has broken the last record in the 2009-10 financial year by handing a total 57.10 MT of cargo. The growth of the Paradip Port traffic is the highest among all Major Ports of the country.
During the previous financial year, the Paradip Port had handled 56.30 MT of cargo. The major commodities handled by the port during 2013-14 included crude oil, iron ore, coal, fertilisers, raw materials, limestone, etc. The tenure PPT Chairman Sudhanshu Sekhara Mishra, an officer from the Indian Railways, has witnessed a golden era for the port’s phenomenal growth.The port management has conveyed its thanks to the port employees and stakeholders for this unique achievement.
